stereotypes towards the black community
Justice For Khalil
Officer Cruise assumed that Khalil was a drug dealer and a thug. The only things that led him to believe Khalil was a drug dealer were his colour and the fact that he was living in Garden Heights. Therefore, his presumptions relied on racist stereotypes of Black men and boys. Officer Cruise made a statement to prove his “innocence” stating that Khalil was a drug dealer, implying he had the right to shoot him. Many stereotypes are based on someone's race or the colour of their skin. People of colour often face racist assumptions from the police and other people. In the worst cases, lives are taken for no good reason. Many people protest against the injustices the black community goes through. Unfortunately, they continue to endure a world steeped in racism without end.
